Olympia's Urban Forestry Program also received the Association of Washington Cities' Certificate of Excellence in 2007 for its "Healthy Urban Forests for Everyone!" outreach program.

What's New!

Education in Your Neighborhood

Want to learn more about raising healthy trees? Does your neighborhood want some tree advice? The City's Urban Forester is available to provide education about tree planting, pruning, and overall care to your neighborhood in a variety of ways:

  • Gather your neighbors together for a neighborhood presentation.
  • Get brochures for you and your friends - great for handing out at neighborhood events!
  • Get guidance about planning and implementation for a neighborhood tree-planting party.

The Urban Forester can tailor her presentation to your neighborhood's needs. Tree pruning, hot-weather care for trees, or selecting the right tree for the right place are all popular topics.
